DAY 1 KHUM LANNA 

10h00: Arrival at Khum Lanna to be greeted by your local host. We will receive a short briefing and choose an activity you want to do in the afternoon.

10h30: Your first activity is to participate in a Thai cooking class. Learn how to cook sticky rice, prepare Thai country style barbecue and make green papaya salad. During the cooking class, we will talk about the history of rice cultivation, the types, the equipment used in the past and the future needs. Take a casual walk to our organic garden. You will also have the opportunity to collect herbs and vegetables from the garden and use them in your cooking class.

12h30: Lunch will include country style barbecue, steamed sticky rice that you prepared earlier and all the scrumptious dishes to complement.

14h00 – 16h00: Enjoy an activity that you select earlier in the morning (approx. one-hour):

• A guided biking tour in the countryside around Khum Lanna
• ​Learn the art of fruit (or vegetable) carving
• A local herbal steam bath to relax and rejuvenate your body
• A therapeutic hot-pressed herbal massage

​Notes: 
A second additional 1-hour activity can be booked at a nominal charge. Alternatively, you are welcome to use our bicycle to explore the surroundings by yourself. We will give you a road map of recommended itineraries.

17h30: A second cooking class begins. You will receive a “Khum Lanna Thai Recipe Book” that includes several famous Thai recipes with an explanation about health benefits of herbs used in Thai cuisine. At dinner, enjoy the fruits of your labors with a full 4-course sit-down Thai dinner with your host and friends.

DAY 2 KHUM LANNA 

After breakfast, you will leave Khum Lanna (about 9:30 am) for Ban Mea Raghong. A brief stop for a short visit at a local school and continue to a starting point at  Ban Pang Sane. Here, you will take a 90 minute walk along the nature trail up to a waterfall. Picnic lunch will be served at the waterfall.

After lunch, continue trekking to an Akha hill tribe village. Stop for a cup of tea with Akha people and chat with them to learn about their culture and ways of life. Then, you will be transferred back to Khum Lanna. 

In the afternoon, relax at your leisure until dinner time. Overnight at Khum Lanna

DAY 3 KHUM LANNA – DEPARTURE

05h30: Wake up early and get ready for a sunrise biking trip, Cycle along a rural country road to visit a local market. Then walk to a farmer’s rice and traditional tools shop. Chat with the owner and listen to stories about the rice legends and different properties of the varieties of rice. On the way back, take a brief stop at Wat Pa, a temple revered by the villagers. 

Continue biking along a small canal passing local houses and rice fields. Here, your guide will tell you about the rice-growing process and how it has influenced Thai culture.

Upon return, enjoy a Lanna style breakfast before checking out (about 10 a.m.)
